Moving to SK!~ Dealing with Materialisms

So we are moving to SK! P has left already, leaving me alone. I thought I would be okay, but I was quite sad yesterday and had not much motivation to clean up... But trying to keep myself busy, meeting friends, and going to church. Maybe I'm just procrastinating from the cleaning I have to do.... ><

And this time, I'm giving away more things. Not only because we don't have space in the car to take all, but I just realized how attached I am to things. I want to just let it all go! This is a good start to let go that 'materialism' that get hold on to us somehow.

Unnecessary possessions are unnecessary burdens.  If you have them, you have to take care of them. ~Peace Pilgrim

“The things you own end up owning you. It's only after you lose everything that you're free to do anything.” ~ Chuck PalahniukFight Club

"Look at the birds of the air.  They neither toil nor reap nor gather into barns, yet your Heavenly Father feeds them.  Are you not of more value than these?"~Matthew 6:26

I feel like we have more than enough, yet it's not enough! So I'm glad this time around, I'm less attached to things, even books!! I trust the Lord, He will provide all the needs that come along in our lives as we try to live simply.

These are some pictures from P yesterday on his way to Dunc lake. Can't wait to go and explore new places and be with my husband. I miss him A LOT!

Pray- Kendall Payne

I just like this song. And really helps me in my prayer when the way is not clear.

"may you never be sure any plans you desire, but you learn to trust the plans He has for you"... K. Payne

"But so often more than anything, God wants us to change. And we should be praying for these circumstances that God allows in our lives as opportunity for us to grow in our characters and in person"~ F. Chan

Just Stop and Think~ Religion.. why isn't it working?

I watched this video a while ago, but re-posting it. And I just realized, the scenery matches the puzzle I was working on!

I was in Cuba last week for 2 days, and a bit disappointed of weather. But had a great time laughing with my co-workers. :)
Cuban turtles, I love turtles!

The beautiful beach but a bit cold

Relaxing... but it was mostly cloudy and cold but got a bad sunburn!

19Recuerden esto, queridos hermanos: todos ustedes deben estar listos para escuchar; en cambio deben ser lentos para hablar y para enojarse. 20 Porque el hombre enojado no hace lo que es justo ante Dios. Santiago 1:19-20

19 My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, 20 because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires. James 1:19-20

19愛する皆さん。 人のことばには耳を傾け、口数を少なくし、しかも腹を立てないの
が一番だ、と心得なさい。 20怒りは、神様の標準から、私たちを遠く引き離すからで

Something I've been working in myself. Not easy not to get angry!!! Specially when you don't agree with someone, or someone does something you dislike. This is a big lesson in my marriage too. It's been a slow learning process... But God is still working on me...

Quote of the day ~ Christians can stink?!

“Christians are like manure: spread them out and they help everything grow better, but keep them in one big pile and they stink horribly.” ― Francis Chan

My chains fell off

Another journal I had written on April 2010... Picture was taken in New Richmond.

"Long my imprisoned spirit lay
Fast bound in sin and nature's night;
Thine eye diffused a quickening ray-
I woke, the dungeon falmed with light;
My chains fell off, my heart was free,
I rose, went forth, and followed Thee.

I've been having this image of chains, for the last couple of weeks and as I meditated and asked God to speak to me about these chains, I went to SSC Easter Play that I was invited to go from a friend, a brother :). I wasn't expecting to go at all but then I found out the theme this year was FREEDOM and it had a picture of hands in chains.

This is what it always hit me.... seeing Mary, mother of Jesus, crying out for her son, the man crucified on the cross, a baby she once held in her arms, the Messiah, our Savior, our King.

Even then, the pain of Mary cannot be compared to the pain of our Father in heaven. Seeing His Son and only Son, crucified for the sins of the world, being Holy and perfect, heaven turned away from Him and took the cup, the wrath of God. The pain of our Father was not only seeing His son physically in pain and dying on the cross, but spiritual pain, giving up His life, became the lamb, the sacrifice for us to have eternal life.

Pain for the freedom... and the cross was not the end, it was only the beginning. I wonder if it would had been different if Mary and all the disciples really believed that Jesus was going to rise in 3 days. Would they had looked with joy for the 3 days to pass?

Rejoice! Our Lord has risen!! He is alive!! Our chains fell off!!! Our hearts are set free!!! And I see people still carrying their chains, when they have actually been set free!! Leave off your chains!!! Rise up with Lord and follow Him! Be free!!

"You have freed me from my chains" - Psalm 116:16

".... annd the chains fell of Peter's wrists." - Acts 12:7

"....At once all the prison doors flew open, and everybody's chains came loose"- Acts 16:26

DropBox-Movie- Adoption (Korea)

I saw this movie the other day. It really helps me to think of the children that are born without parents and are abandoned. I hope that one day, if it's God's will, we'll be able to help some of the children too. Until then, I pray that God will continue to raise more people like in the video, who will rescue these children.

Forget me not ~ Maine 2008

Just reposting a thought I had in April 2009, and this flower is called Forget me not.

In the night I remember your name, O LORD
Psalm 119:55

Forget me not
be careful that you do not forget the LORD
- Deuteronomy 6:12

Remember the former things, those of long ago;
I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me.
- Isaiah 46:9

As time goes, the world keeps on trying to make us forget the Lord our God. Everything has become as tradition, a culture event, even worse it has created another image representing celebration of the truth we believe in.

And these are the two main events in which we remember our Lord: Christmas and Easter

Where have we placed our Lord in these times? The world has surely hidden the truth in chocolates, presents, bunnies, "holidays".

I just wanted to ask something:

Do you really remember Him?

Do you remember what He has done for you?

If you can't remember what He has done for you, a good place to start is the Bible.

Wherever you read in the Book, it will show you He has remembered us, that is the reason of where we are now and the reason to remember Him.

Do not forget Him!! Remember Him today!!

Thank Him for what He has freely given you!!

I will remember the deeds of the LORD; yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago.
Psalm 77:11

They remembered that God was their Rock, that God Most High was their Redeemer.
Psalm 78:35

This is the air I breath...

I've been connecting with a new person through a friend, and finding that she is going through difficult times in her life. I just remember that time when I was in that dark bottom pit of my life. I couldn't see a way out. But that day He has giving me life, and it was through this song... that really spoke the state of my heart. I was desperate and lost and I needed Him.

I rejoice now for what He has done, because now I see, I'm no longer blind! :) Life hasn't been easier but to know there's hope and a future, and that I can trust Him, makes a difference. Thank you God!

This is the song by Michael W. Smith.

this is the air I breathe
this is the air I breathe
Your holy presence living in me

this is my daily bread
this is my daily bread
Your very word spoken to me

And I, I'm desperate for you
And I, I'm I'm lost without you

ありがとう~Arigato- by Migiwa

She wrote this song thinking of a friend who committed suicide. It's really touching. I also know two people who committed suicide and I wish I had spend more time with them and told them the reason for living.

Nordic Mittens lost

So I made these no long ago, but I lost them already >< Well whoever found them, I know they will have warm hands :) You can get the pattern here: Nordic Mittens.

It was very easy to follow, and I really like the thumb part. I learned something new! I used bulky yarn too, but I think next time, I might use a less weight yarn since it came out a bit big. But they were so warm!

"God's patience is infinite. Men, like small kettles, boil quickly with wrath at the least wrong. Not so God. If God were as wrathful, the world would have been a heap of ruins long ago." - Sadhu Sundar Singh

Beautiful story about adoption

I just watched this story about adoption. So beautiful. I want to be so giving like those parents. I was thinking about this yesterday as I was riding on the streetcar, there were two 7-8 years-old children who were deaf and were speaking to each other so seriously about something in sign language. They were just so adorable that I watched them for a long time and one of the boy saw me, and salute me with a hand gesture. They just melted my heart...

Sewing Class!

These are pictures from the sewing class I took last year. It went by fast, but I learn a lot, and it was fun!! I hope we'll be able to get a machine soon, so I can continue to practice. And I found a deal at Groupon so the class was very affordable.

The pillow and little pouch I made.
